We are extremely proud to announce that Princeton University’s Engineers Without Borders (EWB) student chapter has won the 2015 Premier Student Chapter Award for the Northeast Region! The EWB-USA Premier Chapter Awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding EWB-USA student and professional chapters that meet the ideals of a successful EWB-USA chapter. The award recognizes excellence in the chapter’s projects, delivering high quality, sustainable solutions to help meet the basic needs of partnering international communities. The chapter is honored for its excellence in organization, fundraising and public relations, engagement in mentor/mentee relationships and chapter and regional participation. The PU-EWB chapter was chosen for the award out of a pool of 48 student chapters!
We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has supported us on our journey! We could not have won the award without the collaboration of the Keller Center, Princeton Environmental Institute, and our numerous sponsors.
The Premier Prize was awarded at the 2015 EWB-USA Northeast Regional Conference, which was hosted by EWB-USA State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry Chapter. Problem solvers and thought leaders attended this event to collaborate, teach, share best practices, and identify and design appropriate solutions to common obstacles in community-driven development. We were honored to be a part of the event this November.
