Ghana School Library named EWB-USA Premier Project

Congratulations to our Ghana team for being an EWB-USA 2013 Premier Project winner for our library project in Ashaiman, Ghana!


 

The Ghana School Library Project was created after a successful implementation trip in the summer of 2011. In the end, a library was constructed using sustainable landcrete blocks and was stocked with more than 7,000 books and 37 One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) computers. In addition, a variety of training programs were conducted in order to educate members of the community on how to best use and maintain the resources provided. Sierra Leone Video Feature

The EWB-PU Sierra Leone project team successfully traveled to Kono District, Sierra Leone to find a community to partner with to begin a series of water and sanitation projects. Michael Showak '13, Christine Feng '14, Stephanie Teeple '14, and Katie Breen '15 met members of the Dorma Village and assessed their community needs for future engineering projects to be designed by EWB-PU.
